Could it do with the use of windows 11? Yrvyne [author] 5 Jan am. LJO If I understood you correctly, you are not to use the shortcut created by Steam but the one in the install folder. If this is not clear, I will be happy to elaborate. I have installed however when I click launch on the arcanum launcher that appears when pressing play in steam the screen turns black and the mouse pointer loads for 2 seconds it then again shows what I had been looking at with the launcher window.

If my method for ddraw does not work there are other possible kmplimentarions to fix ddraw and also black background. On the other hand, this may not be related to the patch or ddraw but the settings in the settings.

I've pointed it to the Steam installed directory, and it just says "Arcanum installation not found. I read that the install order is official patch, unofficial, then hi-res and HD townmaps. I've got the official patch installed, but that's as far as I've been able to get.
