It's more of a safety issue than anything. Programs like Modio act like viruses. All it takes is one slip, and you could potentially be looking at a profile ban, or even worse, a console ban.

It's really not worth the risk. It's what I've been doing for some time now. My original issue was with TES:V. Game data corrupting because of a faulty game. Additionally, have you tried uninstalling the game, clearing your system cache, rebooting, then reinstalling it? I understand that it doesn't always word with every game out there, but there is still a chance that it will help solve your issue.

In that case you can back up the save to a secondary flashdrive or the Cloud through the console itself. But taking files out of the Xbox Live network and then re-importing them into the network is generally regarded poorly and I don't want you falling foul of this when all you want to do is safeguard your progress, which is why I advised you against using external applications.

Copied … not Moved! After copying the content, you will sometimes need to reactivate it, which is done automatically when you start the game. I actually tried it with a USB 3. Consider a large USB harddisk in case you have a lot of data and games. Copyright protection remains intact. So this is not a trick to illegally copy games!!

Also be aware that this has not been tested with music and video that are DRM protected. I suspect that the game data achievements are stored in the individual profiles. Either deselect some of the content, or use a USB drive with more capacity. Transferring the content will take a while, depending on how much data you have selected. For games this can be anywhere between a few Mb 25 Mb for the classic Doom game up to several Gb for modern games.

If you only wanted to move content from one XBox to another, then you can skip this step. In some cases you might need to enable your file browser Explorer, Finder, etc to see hidden files. Since there are many file browsers for the Linux platform, you might have to try Google to find what works for you. We will need these files later. The steps are the same as we did in step 1, however this time we start with the USB drive as the source, and select the harddrive of your XBox as the destination.

I recommend formatting the USB stick in that case before you copy the files on it for the restore. The steps are the same as we did in step 1 and 3, where the USB device is the source and the harddrive of your XBox the destination.

If you did this to make a backup, then you now have your XBox files safe and secure on your computer. If you only wanted to move files, then they are now on the other XBox Note : If you used to make a backup of your files, remember to execute steps 4, 5 and 6 to restore your files in the future.

Would this method work? Also If the newer drive is bigger will the partition change?

I have a WD black gb drive I want to use. Make a copy of an original Xbox game? Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to make a copy of an original Xbox game on to a blank DVD dl disc. When and if I flush my xbox to play backup games is it possible to copy the original games I have at the moment so I can still have a copy of the original games. Please can someone assistant. Of course it is, but you will need a few things to do it: 1. A program you like, either Schtrom or Xbox Backup Creator 3. But it is a complete headache so if you want to go hat route your on your own. Can u use CloneCD to make a copy of the original xbox games? What do i have to do? It has to be a specific model with Kreon firmware. Not just any old DVD-Rom will work.

If you do then: 1. Stick original disc in your Samsung PC drive and let it spin for a second and be recognized 2. DVD file you just made 4. Select your burning speed, and booktype the media to DVD-Rom if your burner can booktype 5. Select Yes for the prompt that appears. The Xbox will then set up the USB drive for its own use. Depending on whether your Xbox is using a hard drive or just has a memory module on board, you will need to select Hard Drive or Memory Unit.

Choose Games and Apps, and find the game that you wish to backup the saves for. Select it, and your save games should be visible. Select those, choose Copy and then select your USB flash drive which will now also be called Memory Unit, but have a flash drive icon. Be respectful, keep it civil and stay on topic.
